A Message from Jan-Pieter van Welsem,
Sales and Marketing Director Enterprise & Broadcast Connectivity, EMEA
The main priority for this year is to improve our margins. Selling connectivity is an important driver for this, hence our continued efforts to strengthen our go-to-market and expand our connectivity portfolio, especially in the datacentre application. With this in mind it is encouraging to see that Belden was nominated during an awards ceremony by one of EMEA's leading datacentre magazines for two of our products: PatchPro and FiberExpress. Recognising the unique qualities of these products and positioning us squarely amidst all the datacentre players. The fact that we managed to come runner-up with PatchPro we should only see as further support in our drive to sell more connectivity solutions! I wish you a successful month!
Belden is Runner Up in DCS Awards!
After being selected as finalists for this year’s Datacenter Solutions (DCS) awards, Belden PatchPro® Intelligent Patching Solution finished runner up in the Datacenter Management Product of the Year category. Belden PatchPro® Intelligent Patching Solution provides cost-effective identification of cables and real-time monitoring of physical changes to the network infrastructure for environments where security, reliability and uptime are critical. Thank you to all who took the time to vote for us!
Here Comes Pre-term!
Be on the lookout for the upcoming EMEA launch of FiberExpress low-smoke, no-halogen (LSNH) pre-terminated fiber assemblies that offer faster data center deployment, better performance and easier scalability to next generation transmission speeds for overall lower total cost of ownership. This full range of fiber assemblies will include multi-fiber push-on (MPO) trunk assemblies, hydra assemblies, patch cords and multi-fiber cable assembles to meet a wide range of data center applications and densities.
Belden Prepares Spartak’s New Stadium to Broadcast 2018 World Cup
When Moscow’s Spartak Football Club finally got the chance to construct Otkritie Arena, a new 47,000 seat stadium, Belden’s state-of-the-art professional broadcast cabling solutions were chosen to withstand Moscow’s cold winter temperatures, speed installation and ultimately support broadcasting capabilities for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. In a pre-wired cabling installation by German-based Broadcast Solutions, Belden’s Triax 14 flame-retardant non-corrosive (FRNC) copper and SMPTE311M halogen-free fiber composite cables were deployed to interconnect cameras. The stadium’s live video broadcasting infrastructure uses Brilliance FRNC coax cable with Belden’s fast-installation 1-piece HD Brilliance BNC Compression Connectors, which were a critical selling point for the project. The new Spartak Arena also deployed Belden cable for digital audio and a combination of copper and fiber cable for data and control applications. The opening exhibition match at the new stadium will take place on July 24, 2014 between Spartak and Dynamo, the historic and renowned rivals of the former Soviet Union.
