The data center market is evolving. So is Belden. We have recently introduced our faster, easier and better data center solutions to our partners and end users through a partner event and a series of roadshows in the Middle East region. Our partner day in Dubai was well attended by 45 people who got together to see our latest solutions, meet with our senior executives and hear about the latest trends from Paul Kish and Mike Salvador. We reached out to more than 150 end users through our roadshows in Qatar and Saudi Arabia and received very positive feedback to our new launches comprising Enclosures, Power Distribution Units and Intelligent Patching Solution - Belden PatchPro®. It is important to make an informed decision when it comes to cabling, as the grade, quality and overall performance of cables offeredin the market differ greatly.
That’s why EMEA launched its Cable Differentiation and Partner Secure Supply Chain initiative, www.cable-talk.com in June 2013. The program was created to combat increasing competition from fake, look-alike and so called “equivalent” products that now compete with Belden brands every day in our BAV, Industrial and Enterprise cable businesses. Research within our partner network identified these “fake and look-alike” products as one of the biggest inhibitors to growth — especially in the growing Middle East market — and exposed the need for effective sales training and tools to defend Belden brands. The program has the following goals:

Increasing awareness of the importance of quality and compliance of cables in the market and the risks associated with so called alternative and equivalent cables.

Reinforcing the premium value of the Belden brand and product quality with apples-to-apples testing and comparisons.

Highlighting the value that PPP Belden Preferred Partners offer to our customers in delivering guaranteed, genuine Belden products through the secure supply chain promise.
In addition to this training, a wide range of marketing tools have been developed to support field-sales activities. Feedback from our partners has been extremely positive; we’ve enabled their sales associates to promote Belden with much greater confidence and to sell on clear points of differentiation from our competitors.
